Enter Club Regent Event Centre.

The redesigned venue is equipped with state of the art lighting, sound and video technology. But the highlight is the cutting edge Gala Seating System which allows the room to morph from concert venue to cabaret seating to dining room to whatever at the touch of a button. Beyond cool, this room revolutionizes the use of space providing the casino with a multi-purpose event centre that is so much more than just a room.

From the moment you walk in the north entrance of the casino, you are transported into an ultra chic space with gleaming terrazzo flooring adorned with gold filigrees and warm wood veneer. Guests of the attached hotel can once again walk through to the casino, stopping in the new gift shop, Ticketmaster box office or event centre in style.

Elegant, floor-to-ceiling, moving walls of glass and white wood surround the lobby of the event centre. Once tickets have been processed, guests are welcomed into the 4,000 square foot lobby equipped with a grand bar to enjoy a beverage before the main event. The filigree decor is subtly carried throughout and can be found frosted on the glass doors and on the crisp white walls that complement the dark wood accents of the room. Additional slated white walls can be slid over the entrance, offering guests a completely private experience should it be required. And while the room comfortably holds 360 to 400 people, a separate VIP lounge for 35 is also available.

The theatre offers a top notch experience whether it’s a concert, tradeshow, gala dinner or cabaret. When all seats are in position it can hold 1,400 people, which is three times the number of guests the original theatres at the McPhillips Station and Club Regent Casino held combined! The true magic is that the seating system can transform the room into any number of configurations in six to eight minutes with seamless beauty and precision.

From the first show, Huey Lewis and the News, to the dozens they’ve hosted since, the future looks rosy for the Club Regent Event Centre. They’ve partnered with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, and have even held their first comedy event with Howie Mandel recently. The increased space and seating capacity means larger and greater shows for Winnipeggers and visitors alike.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is just a glimpse of what is to come. Say goodbye to the pastels and palm trees and hello to sexy wood and stylish warm decor. Once completed the new contemporary face of Club Regent will be sure to be a head turner on Regent Avenue.

Club Regent will remain open while this transformation is underway, a fantastic feat for which they should be lauded. So you can still stop by for slots and table games, view their walk-through salt water aquarium (which will remain after the renovations), enjoy a drink or full menu service at Toukie’s Lounge or straddle up to JAG’S famous buffet.
